How to use the carshare:

First you need to sign up. You’ll need to submit an application including a valid driver’s license, information about your driving history, contact information, etc. Once you’re application is approved you can download our app and select a plan as either a casual user or buy shares and become a member. You will receive a fob which can be used to gain access to any Propel Us vehicle that you have booked. Then you can book any available Propel Us vehicle whenever you like. You can book up to a year in advance or 2 minutes before you leave. You can pay as you go with a credit card, or for members, you can keep a tab that you pay monthly.

Because you only pay for the vehicle while you’re using it, it costs far less than a personal car.

How the non-profit cooperative business model works:

Propel Us is a non-profit cooperative. That means that all profits go towards services for our members or to the community. This keeps Propel Us as affordable as possible. We believe this is important because transportation is a necessity and the barrier to access it should be as low as possible.

Each of our members owns shares in Propel Us. Each member gets one vote. Our members don’t have any financial stake in the co-op, but they each have an equal share of democratic control. This way Propel Us will always prioritize the interests of it’s members and the broader community.
